LaunchPad INW, LLC Hosts Regional Innovation Forum
SPOKANE, Wash, October 5, 2011 – The economy has created anxiety for many businesses and employees during the past four years. Companies are constantly trying to discern real opportunities and solidify their place in the rapidly changing economic landscape. However, some local companies have found success through innovation amid the turmoil.
LaunchPad Inland Northwest will highlight some of the region’s top entrepreneurs and business leaders that have championed our regional strengths through innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit at an October 20 event entitled Transforming our Regional Economy: How Technology and Innovation are Changing Business. The event, sponsored by TROI IT, will be held at the Meadowwood Technology Campus 2100 N. Molter Rd. , Liberty Lake.
This signature event includes panelists and breakout sessions focused on green and smart grid technologies and entrepreneur resources including capital funding, networking and cloud technologies, health care technology and the always escalating online and mobile frontier. The event opens at 3 p.m. with concurrent sessions running from 4-5 p.m. The evening includes a trade show, appetizers, networking and unstructured discussions from 5:30-8 p.m.
Special guest Rebecca Lovell, chief business officer for GeekWire, will discuss how technology and innovation have made Seattle-based GeekWire (launched in March 2011) the largest blog in the Pacific Northwest in a relatively short period of time. She will also discuss the culture of Seattle’s current innovation and technlogy community.
“Many companies right here in Spokane have found tremendous success by rethinking innovation and technology options to fill the gaps created by constant economic turbulence,” says Bill Kalivas, co-founder and managing partner of LaunchPad INW. “Turmoil begets opportunity. Opportunity creates innovation. Innovation fosters breakthroughs.”
The event is ideal for entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals interested in how technology and innovation can transform the regional economy. Complete session information, panelists and event registration can be found at
