I have just spent the last couple of days with the team from MerchantCircle. We did some fun stuff like the Skeet Shooting and touring the beautiful vineyards of Norther California. All of that was well and good but the true enjoyment for me was meeting with the engineers and the staff that are behind the scenes at MerchantCircle. I spent some time visiting with the CEO of MC, Ben Smith. If there was ever an individual that “gets” it in silicon valley it would have to be this man. There were no ties or expensive shoes for this team of dedicated professionals. There was not this massive campus with thousands of computers lined up to bury your needs in the mix. There was a group of men and women that are dedicated to the success of small business from Los Angeles, California to North Andover, Massachusetts  and every small town in between. 

This was my second trip to Mountain View CA. When I walked in the door I was warmly greeted with a “Hey Monte” or “How’s Business up in Spokane?” This wasn’t a row of computers. It was a great group of people that are genuinely concerned with the success of their members. We spent the entire day going over things like new layouts and functionality for the website. From things as complex as Lead generation to things as simple as blog modules within MerchantCircle. The common thread throughout the whole day and the several different departments we met with was the overall sense of excitement that they all had and the dedication to a product to make it the best it can be. 

For me MerchantCircle isn’t a row of computers. MerchantCircle is Robyn, Trish, Chris, David, Darren, Michael, Grace, Ben, Paul, Dennis and the many other team members that really listened to what we had to offer.  I can guarantee that I learned more from them than they did from me. Darren, I love your family! I hope you find a great contractor to help you with your driveway. Grace, I want regular updates until your due date. Robyn, Let’s get started planning that trip up to Spokane. Ben, thanks for letting me use your Shotgun. David, let me know if your Soccer team makes it to the championships. Dennis and Paul your ideas are “Brilliant”. Chris, thank you for being my “go to guy”, I’ll be getting with you soon! Trish, see ya next time you visit your relatives in Spokane!
