Interplayers Theater
“Get off the tractor Hon, were going into town”……is what I heard from behind the house..
Alrighty then. “Where we headed?” I yelled back.
“To the Theater” I got in reply.
“Great! we’re going to a movie” I thought to myself. Lets Go!
I get in the car all ready to pick out the movie and much to my surprise my wife tells me “not a movie, we’re going to Interplayers Theater to see Opus”.
I’ll have to admit that it was a stretch for me to wrap my tractor operating head around true theater but, hey I’m open to new ideas.
I have to say that I was plesantly surprized.
The show today was about a quartet of string instrument players with all the trials and tribulations of any group. Add in the stress of needing to play in front of the President of the United States with a new member and you have yourself the premise for a great play. This particular show runs through the 5th of February. There are several shows coming up in the coming months that you may want to check out as well.
I have to say that I did enjoy the theater today and here is why. I enjoyed the play, but more importantly than that, I enjoyed the thought of Interplayers Theater. Local not for profit entertainment for Spokane that adds a touch of class to this town. Something outside the norm. Something that Spokane can hang their “Culture” hat on.
See….I wasn’t always a “High Tech Redneck”. I have traveled the world and seen many, many things that I feel added “culture” to my life. I can honestly say that today added one more piece of culture to my life and I’ll be danged if it didn’t happen right here in little ole’ Spokane.
