It was the day of chocolate for The Spokane Grapevine. We went from Hallets Chocolates to The Chocolate Apothecary to meet with Melissa Barnett. Melissa is the owner of Pixie D ust Chocolates. This was by far the highlight of the day, meeting with her was a breath of fresh air and reminded us of what it really means to start a bu

siness borne out of passion. With an extremely supportive husba nd at her side this mother of two was in search of a unique gift for her own mother’s 60th birthday…..What she found was a new career (or at least the start of one) and Pixie Dust Chocolates was born. Melissa is the embodiment of the American dream. She works a full time job at Sacred Heart and moonlights (quite literally) as an artist of confection. I could go into great detail (as she did) about her chocolate creations, but really what more do you need to know. It’s chocolate for peet’s sake, it’s made by a wonderful young, LOCAL family and it is great chocolate….did I mention that it’s chocolate? If you want good chocolate and you belive in supporting our local families then you need to get in contact with Pixie Dust Chocolates on Facebook. We were so impressed with her that we will also be showcasing her products at our store in Airway Heights The Short list of where you can purchase her chocolate creations is

  1. The Chocolate Apothecary
  2. Auntie’s bookstore
  3. Northern Quest Casino
  4. Rocket Market
  5. Huckleberry’s Natural Markets
