Camp Four Echoes: a Guest Post By Lucinda Kay
I know…..I am down in California at this big event for MerchantCircle and here I am blogging about Girl Scouts…..Well Technically Lucinda Kay of Let it Shine Media is guest blogging for me….So here you go
Hurry up, get those girls outta dodge and registered for Girl Scout Summer Camp.
(No, they don’t have to be Girl Scouts)
I believe in Girl Scouts. I believe in summer camp. You know summer camp builds leaders, plus it’s good clean fun! Shoot, I learned how to pack my gear (although I seem to carry a few too many bags now days), cook over a fire (my mama can even bake pies in the fire), and I have a few ribbons lying around from all my camp competitions.
Camp Four Echoes is just a short drive away on Lake Coeur d’Alene in Worley, ID and this season campers will enjoy a brand new lodge that is state of the art! Ed Schweitzer, SEL founder and President, and his wife Beatriz Schweitzer in Pullman, WA donated over three million dollars to build the lodge. That’s amazing generosity for our region’s girls from Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington.
Camp Four Echoes opens on July 5th; the season runs through August 19th. There are all kinds of sessions, water adventures, leadership, wildlife… grades 1st through 12. Check online to find the session that best suits your fancy: www.CampFourEchoes.com
Live it up!! (The fun facts)
- Something new: amazing lodge, state of the art kitchen, science lab, expanded ages
- Something old: learn to light campfires with just ONE match
- Marshmallows roasted last year: 2,100 (Not counting the goo that went up in a blaze of glory.)
- Craziest experience: glow in the dark dance party!
For the first time ever, girls entering first grade get to join the big girls for night hikes, camp fires, over 300 different kinds of birds, sailing… plenty of camp songs… the list goes on.
Camp Four Echoes accepts ALL girls, Girl Scout or not, scholarships are available for Girl Scouts within the council (Girl Scouts Eastern Washington Northern Idaho). Camp has been around since 1938, and boasts teepees, cabins, chalets, gazebos, and tree houses!
